Uniform & Equipment

Appearance and the way students present themselves is a clear reflection of their general attitude, and this will impact on their learning. Students need to ensure that they arrive at the Academy each morning ready to work, and this includes being clean, tidy and dressed appropriately in the correct Academy Uniform and having the correct kit to wear for PE.

The students' general appearance also influences the way they are seen by other people. Students at the Bishop of Rochester Academy are expected to present themselves smartly at all times, both in and out of the Academy, in order to create a good impression. When on a trip/visit, etc., outside of the Academy, students are reminded that they are representing the Academy.

We firmly believe that our Uniform and Dress Code will help to maintain the high standards on which our Academy culture and ethos are based.

Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices

Students are permitted to bring mobile phones and other electronic devices into school at their own risk. All devices must be switched off and out of sight during lessons. If a student is found to be in breach of this regulation their phone or electronic device will be removed from them and placed in the office until such time as it can be collected by a parent. Under no circumstances will the Academy accept responsibility for any theft or loss. Students are also reminded that electronic devices are not permitted in examinations and must be handed in at the start. This is an examination board regulation and failure to comply can result in the student being disqualified from the examination.
